New Team Ireland Website Brings 102 Years of Athlete Stories Together
Team Ireland has launched its new website marking a milestone moment in Irish Olympic history. For the first time in 102 years, every Irish Olympian has had their story told. The site places athletes at its centre, presenting their stories, achievements and moments that have defined the Irish Olympic movement.
The new archive spans more than 1,000 athletes across every Games attended by Ireland as a nation, from Paris 1924 to Milano-Cortina 2026. Each profile has been individually researched and written, drawing on public records as well as the extensive historical research for the OFI by historian Dr Tom Hunt. This ensures that for the first time, every Olympic athlete representing Ireland has their presence and performances recorded in a fully searchable archive.
