President Michael D Higgins makes his first visit to the Olympic site in London. The Olympic Park and Athletes Village in east London is still under construction but many of the key facilities, such as the 80,000-seat stadium, are nearing completion.
Pat Hickey – President accompanied the President as he was shown around the complex by the chairman of the Games organising committee, Seb Coe. Kieran Behan – Gymnastic Athlete was also in attendance on behalf of the Olympic Council of Ireland.

Seb Coe remarked that the London Organising Committee were delighted that it was possible to bring the Torch to Dublin on 6th June.
