BIOGRAPHY
Paul Kiernan represented Ireland in the two-man bobsleigh at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, finishing 26th alongside pilot Peter Donohoe. The pair remain the last Irish men to have competed in Olympic bobsleigh. Kiernan came to the sport from an athletics background, as was common among the Irish bobsleigh athletes of that era, with the explosive power and speed required on the push start lending itself to track and field competitors.
