Two Villages will be used in order to accommodate the athletes and team officials participating in the inaugural European Games:The Athletes Villages will provide athletes and team officials with a residential environment that is secure, comfortable, friendly and stress-free.Its a “home away from home”,which enables residents to focus on their preparation and competition, and to enjoy their Games experience.The Athletes Village (AVL) is located in the north-west part of Baku, a short walk from the National Stadium that will host Athletics and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, as well as the National Gymnastics Arena.
- Athletes and team officials will be accommodated in 13 newly constructed permanent buildings, ranging in height from 8 to 13 levels.
- The buildings contain apartments with 6 or 8 beds
- There are 16 types of apartments with 3 to 4 bedrooms per apartment which vary in size from 19.6m2 to 40.6m2
- Shared Recreation Centre spaces will be provided on the first floor of each building.
- These spaces will have soft furnishings, televisions with Games feeds and free internet accessCanoe Sprint Village
- The Canoe Sprint Village (CVL) located at Mingachevir, 288km from Baku, which will accommodate those athletes and team officials participating in the Canoe Sprint competition.
