The 4th Baku Coordination Commission for the 1st European Games in Baku was held on the 2nd and 3rd September.

The results are all positive and BEGOC the Organising Committee reported on all venues are on schedule and in many instances they are ahead of schedule.

The Athletes Village in Baku is currently being fitted out and will be ready in plenty of time and it has already been tested during the Youth Olympic Qualifying event in Athletics and the European Rhythmic Gymnastics.

There are now twenty sports in the games with the recent addition of Sambo. Qualification is well under way and as of today Ireland have 16 athletes qualified in the sports of Gymnastics(6), Wrestling (2), Boxing (3)and Canoeing (5). In the coming weeks we expect more additions to the team.

Ireland can look forward to high representation and a great first European Games.
