Bell competes in Giant Slalom

Chef de Mission Anne O’Connor sums up the day for the Irish Team

“The day got off to an early start for Victoria (Tori) Bell and her coach, Phil at 6.30 am.  They headed to the slope for training runs before her GS race which started at 9.30am.  She was number 70 to start.  Weather was wet and foggy, by 10am it became brighter and Tori did an excellent run finishing in 62nd position out of 96 starters.

In the second run at which started at 12.30 Tori lost a ski at the 5th gate due to the course conditions and she didn’t finish the second run.

The boys took the 8.30 bus to the slopes for training for their race tomorrow.  They along with all the Irish supporters gathered at the finish to support Tori.

Having returned to the Village in the afternoon the boys spent time preparing the race skis for their Giant Slalom race on Tuesday”
