NOC Relations and Services encourages NOCs to recommend persons who may wish to be volunteers for the Games and be associated with the NOCs as a possible NOC Assistant or NOC Driver. Compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions, overseas Chinese, and foreigners can apply from March, 2007.
The criteria for a successful candidate are:
• Ability to speak, write and read Chinese
• Good knowledge of Beijing
• Participation in the training sessions once a month starting from January, 2008
• Staying in Beijing during the Games
