Congratulations to the Irish Women’s Hockey team, and to their coaching & support staff, on an amazing World Cup tournament.
The courageous women raised the spirit of the whole nation with displays of incredible skill and tenacity throughout the world cup culminating in a spirited final match against a highly talented Dutch side. It was a fantastic treat to see an Ireland Team competing at the very highest level of the game, with so much drama, especially in those heart-stopping shoot-outs. The Irish women were great ambassadors for the country and for their sport, playing the game as it should be played with so much skill, energy and pride.
