Curling World Championships

Ireland’s Men’s senior curling team are progressing steadily at the World Senior Curling Championships in Sochi, Russia, this week.

So far the team, Bill Gray skipping with Neil Fyfe, David Whyte and David Hume, have played 4 games, winning three and losing narrowly to Japan in the 7 game round robin qualification phase of the competition.

Good wins against Latvia, Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic and a narrow defeat at the hands of Japan leave them second in the rankings but with Canada and Scotland to come, stern tests await.

Two more wins from their last three games could see the men qualify for the Quarter Finals.
