Christina Desmond narrowly lost her bronze medal contest today in Nanjing in the women’s middle weight category.
However its been a fantastic tournament for Christina and she and Irish Boxing can be very proud of her achievements in Nanjing for Team Ireland.
Irish coach Billy McLean said “Christina gave it 110% against a very good Australian opponent. She gave it absolutely everything and you couldn’t ask for anymore than that. “
“Christina gave it everything and she boxed her heart out against the Australian girl, who is also a World Youth medallist.”
