Karen Dolphin has been eliminated from the women’s Kata this morning.
Karen performed well but having faced three of the world’s best athletes in the elimination round it was always going to be a major task to qualify for the next stages of the competition. She lost 5-0 to Sandra Sanchez (Spain- European Champion), Veronika Miskova (Czech Republic European- Bronze Medallist)) and Sandy Scordo (France – World – Silver Medallist).
It’s been a great experience for Karen and Karate Ireland to have qualified and represented her country with distinction here in Baku.
Dolphin said ” It was the toughest draw I could have got, but i performed to my best , that’s all I could do, it was a great experience to perform so well against three of the best athletes in the World.against
