Ireland has started their European mixed team championships with a 4-1 victory over a strong Finland line up.
Ireland had a number of good wins in the opening match including Scott Evans Irish number one beating one of Europe’s best players in Ville Lang.
Lang is ranked 10 places higher at 46 on the world rankings.
Next up for the Irish will be a match against Israel at 18:00 Russian time.
The remaining group game will be against the number 6 seeds France.
