Team Ireland will travel to Lignano Sabbiadoro for the European Youth Olympic Festival, which runs from 24 July to 1 August 2027.
Around 4,000 athletes from 48 European countries will compete across 14 sports in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, with Lignano becoming the first city to stage the Summer EYOF twice, having hosted the 2005 edition.
For Team Ireland, the EYOF is one of the most valuable steps on the athlete pathway. It is where many young Irish athletes get their first experience of a multi-sport Games environment, living in a village, competing under the Irish flag alongside team-mates from other sports, and learning to handle the demands of a major international event. Those lessons shape how an athlete approaches the years that follow, and a significant number of Ireland's Olympians took their first steps on the international stage at an EYOF.
