Vuokatti 2001
11th Mar 2001 – 15th Mar 2001
About
The 5th Winter European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) was held in Vuokatti, Finland, from 11-15 March 2001. The event marked the first winter edition to be held under the EYOF name, following the rebranding from the European Youth Olympic Days (EYOD). For Ireland, participation in Vuokatti represented another important step in the development of winter sport pathways. Irish athletes gained valuable experience competing against Europe's strongest junior athletes in a range of winter disciplines. The festival has historically served as a launching platform for many future Olympic, World Championship, and World Cup competitors.
