Speaking about today’s results, Performance and Technical Manager Sally Johnson said:
‘Great result for Eamon on his first World Cup floor medal. This has been a remarkable achievement for all three gymnasts on this World Cup circuit, achieving a total of four medals. Well done to Coaches Luke Carson and Connor McGovern and all the help from our Judge Denis Donoghue. This Final World Cup will determine the winners of the circuit by points and who qualifies to the World Championships we eagerly wait for these results to be published’
Gymnastics Ireland CEO Mr. Ciaran Gallagher added:
‘The success for our men’s team continues on the World Cup circuit. Huge congratulations to Eamon who has made a huge impression over the last three events going from World Cup newcomer, to finalist and now medallist. A well deserved reward for years of hard work and a very promising sign for his senior career. Congratulations also to Adam Steele for his 6th place results in the final – more key qualification points in the bank for both gymnasts. It wasn’t Rhys’ day yesterday but we are all fully aware of what he is capable of. Everyone in Gymnastics Ireland is super proud of the lads and also the coaches – huge congrats to Luke Carson, Conor McGovern & Will Banthorpe. Congratulations also to our Performance & Technical Manager Sally Johnson and judge Denis Donoghue. We look forward to welcoming them back in Dublin.’
