Congratulations to Brendan Irvine cruised into the quarter-finals of the European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan after an impressive win at the Crystal Hall in the Azeri capital today.
Irvine recorded his second straight victory over Bulgaria’s Tinko Banabakov to make it six wins out of seven for Team Ireland so far.
Irvine won the three rounder 30-26, 30-27, 29-28.
One of the judges scored the last frame 10-8 to Irvine today – but another marked it 10-9 to his opponent.
