Ireland lose 3-1 to Holland

They scored a controversial opening goal midway through the first half when an initial shot went in off a Dutch player’s thigh. Ireland’s goal came form a fabulous passing move down the right which was played onto the baseline and passed to the far post for Emily Beattie to score with a deflection on 42 minutes. However, a lack of concentration in defence allowed Holland to take a 2-1 lead from the restart.

Ireland can be pleased with their overall performance and will be encouraged with many aspects of their play.
If they can covert more open play and penalty convert chances they will surprise a few teams in this tournament.
