Ireland’s Men Senior curlers have finished their campaign at the Senior World Championships in Sochi, Russia, going out in the Quarter Finals to the eventual winners, USA.
The route to the quarter finals was a long one as they had to play a tiebreaker against the Czech Republic and having beaten them, play a qualification game against last years Bronze Medallists, Australia.
They won that game which put them into the Quarter Finals against the USA but having to play three games in the one day which amounted to 7.5hrs on the ice, proved too much for the quartet of Bill Gray, Neil Fyfe, David Whyte and David Hume.
All in all, the team were pleased with their performance overall and improved their World Ranking from 7th to 5th.
