The time trial consists of three heats , one rider per country each heat, a 9km time trial. 94 riders took part and Irish riders finished in the folowing positions:
61. Jason Prendergast 14:01.55
64. Eddie Dunbar 14:04.70
69. Mark downey 14:08.97
Up next for the riders this morning was the Cycling Criterium event : three seperate races covering 15 laps of a 1.7kn street circuit
Riders needed to finish in the top half of their group to make the final but unfortunately Dunbar, Downey and finally Prendergast just missed out by one place in his quest for a final slot.
They will have an opportunity to bet some consolation in this afternoons B final
