Irish progressing at World Championships

At the end of day 1, Irelands Olympic Trap Team is sweating it out in 40 degree plus temperatures on the island of Cyprus.

Best placed of the Irish in a very high scoring men’s Olympic Trap event is Philip Murphy sitting on 73 out of 75, to be followed by David Malone on 70 and Derek Burnett on 69 for 11th, 60th and 65th positions respectively from a field of 146 entries.

With just 2 targets separating the first 19 competitors the stage is set for a thrilling finale which can be followed live on ISSF TV.

In the Team event Ireland sits in 9th position of the 36 entries, 10 targets behind the leaders Kuwait.
