Three Irish boats go out in search of success today at the World Rowing Championships in Florida.Mark O’Donovan and Shane O’Driscoll are in the A final of the lightweight men’s pair.

They’ll be in the water at 5pm (Irish time).

Their clubmate Paul O’Donovan won a gold at these championships last year and he’ll bid to make it back-to-back wins in the lightweight men’s single sculls.

O’Donovan powered to a semi-final victory on Thursday, saying that “he has plenty more in the tank”. His race is at 5.15.

At 5.30, 2010 World Youth Olympic  Rower Denise Walsh goes in the lightweight single sculls final.

Double Olympian Sanita Puspure is also in action today at 4.05. She needs to finish in the top three in her semi-final of the women’s scull to reach Sunday’s medal race.

Patrick Boomer and Fionnan McQuillan-Tolan race in the men’s pair C final at 6.50.
