Irish Team in qualification position for Vancouver

Olympic qualification allows for the larger nations to have the following crews:

3x NOC’s can have 3 crews; seven NOC’s can have 2 crews, and the remaining seven places are filled by NOC’s with 1 crew each. Ireland are in qualifying position at present, just inside the top 20 qualifying slots.

World Cup NO.6 will take place this week in Koenigssee, Germany (4th-10th January) followed by the final World Cup No. 7 in St Moritz ( 11-17th January).

It will be a massive boost to the sport in Ireland if Aoife Hoey’s crew make it to Vancouver. The team are supported by the Olympic Council of Ireland in terms of technical equipment and athlete scholarships.
