Irish wrestlers take medals at British championships 2013

The senior British championships took place in Welshpool Wales on 6th June 2013 with only one entry from Ireland 84Kg Alex Dolly.

Alex had four match fights to win gold in his weight class. During the competition he never allowed a point to be gained in all his fights, Alex had travelled a long distance from the USA to take part in this competition, and his next competition is to enter the Europeans championships in Finland in April 2014.

Junior wrestling Soslan Tuaev 19 years of age and a member of the Hercules Club I Dublin from the age of 10 years, Soslan has competed successfully in all Irish and British competition held in October, and November in Wigan Aspull international 2nd place and last year represented Ireland in the junior European with his Irish passport he is a great prospect for Irish wrestling. He won his current 2013 British open title 84kg from wrestlers who are in the GB Talent squad.

David Scott 18 years of age is wrestling since the age of 8 has come on leaps and bounds with his technique he is also in the Hercules club and partners Soslan Tuaev in the club and training camps, he is also Irish Champion and current 74kg 2013 British champion, Wigan Aspull international 74kg winner he is also coaching the schoolboys /girls in club and school.

David Scott 13 years of age brother of Clinton and is the current 56kg Irish Schoolboy Champion and he came 2nd in the British Championships 2013 he is consistent at training and competition he is dedicated and progressing up the wrestling ladder.

Nickolay Grozdev 16 year as cadet 74kg won his 1st British Championship medal 2013 with style he also was placed 2nd in the Irish Open champion, Nickolay is a new face on the wrestling scene starting last year coming from his country of Russia and has been wrestling since 12 years of age he is technically very good and loves his sport we are very hopeful when we see our junior talent showing up where it counts, thanks to the excellent high standard demonstrated by our coaches in club and squad training camps.
