Irvine’s tough schedule

Martyn Irvine’s hopes of a medal in the men’s omnium faded at the Velodrome when he finished the 4km individual pursuit in a time of 4:32.948 for an overall total of 44 points with two events remaining.

Denmark’s Lasse Norman Hansen was quickest and in a time of 4:20.674 at the Velodrome in London, but Australia’s Glenn O’Shea leads on 17 points, with Britain’s Edward Clancy and Hansen level on 19.
