Irish athletes from a number of sports will take part in test events in London this summer.
Its a unique opportunity to gain knowledge of the event in Olympic format for National Federations and the OCI.
Between July and August Irish involvement will be in the following sports:
Eventing at Greenwich Park: July 4-6th
Modern Pentathlon at Greenwich/Crystal Palace July 9/10th
Canoe Slalom at Lee Valley White Water Centre: July 28-31st
Sailing at Weymouth and Portland: 31st July- 13th August
Rowing at Eton Dorney: August 4-7th
Badminton at Wembley Arena: August 8-14th
Triathlon at Hyde Park: August 6-7th
Road Cycling: London/Surrey route: August 14th
Canoe Flatwater at Eton Dorney: September 1-4th
During this period Sonia O’Sullivan and Stephen Martin will be attending the 1st London 2012 Chef de Mission Seminar in London: August 8-12th.
In addition members of the OCI HQ team will also get the opportunity to support and capture knowledge of the test events during this period.
Sports such as Badminton , Triathlon, Road Cycling and Flatwater Canoeing will also use their proposed 2012 St Mary’s training base at these events.
