Lynch CAS appeal dismissed

Lynch’s horse, Lantinus, was one of four to test positive for the same banned substance, capsaicin, during the equestrian Olympics in Hong Kong in August when all four riders were immediately suspended.

Lynch and Brazilian rider Bernardo Alves lodged appeals to CAS within the last two weeks but both have been rejected and the riders must now wait for the final decision from the FEI’s legal arm, the Tribunal, which was expected to be announced by 30 September.

A statement from the FEI yesterday said their decision will be made “shortly.”
