Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Michael Ring TD, extended his congratulations to show jumper, Michael Duffy, who was part of the European Show Jumping team that won Team Gold at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China this week.
Minister Ring said: ‘I would like to congratulate Michael on the key part he played in helping the European Show Jumping team which won Team Gold at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China on Wednesday. It was a great honour for Michael and for Mayo to be selected to represent Ireland at the Games and his two clear rounds went a long way in securing Gold for Team Europe. I am sure your family and friends and all of Mayo are very proud of everything you have achieved so far and especially your wonderful performance in China.’
Minister Ring added: ‘Michael competes in the individual competition which starts on Saturday and I would like to wish him the very best of luck in this event as well.’
