Annalise Murphy is now in fifth place at the ISAF World Sailing Championships after a solid day’s racing in Perth.
The 21-year-old was outstanding in her three races on Wednesday, climbing to second place overall and qualifying an Irish boat in the Laser Radial class for the London 2012 Olympics.
She sailed a further three races today, taking 37th, 17th and fourth to lie in fifth place with a two further races and the medal race on Sunday to go.

Annalise Murphy has moved into second place after five races in the Laser Radial class at the World Sailing Championships in Perth.
With 18 knots of wind to contend with, Murphy finished second, first and fourth in today’s three races. With five races completed, the Dubliner can discard her worst result – a 30th place finish in the first race of the series.
Combined with her victory in the second race of the series, today’s results mean Murphy is just two points behind leader Evi Van Acker of Belgium.
The Rathfarnham 21-year-old, who sails out of the National Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire, will take part in five more races before the top 10 go through to the medal race on Sunday.
Murphy is virtually certain to qualify for the London 2012 Olympics with the top 29 countries in the fleet of 102 competitors at this Championships set to secure a place.
In other classes, Ger Owens and Scott Flanigan are lying in 31st position in a fleet of 80 in the 470 class. In the Finn class, Ross Hamilton is in 63rd position.
Irish sailors in the other three classes do not start racing until 11/12 December.
