Team Ireland sent 35 athletes to The Skopje 2025 European Youth Olympic Festival. Competing across eight sports, Team Ireland returned home with an impressive six medals, making it one of the country's most successful EYOF performances.
Athletics accounted for four bronze medals, won by Ben Sykes (100m), Erin Friel (400m), Ellis McHugh (400m hurdles) and Joe Burke (200m), with Burke also setting a new Irish U18 record. Ireland also recorded a number of top-eight finishes, including fourth places for Thomas Williams (Hammer Throw) and Matthew Newell (5km Race Walk). Gymnastics produced a historic breakthrough.
Chester Enríquez became Ireland's first-ever EYOF gymnastics medallist, winning bronze on Floor, before going one better by claiming a remarkable gold medal on Vault. His performances contributed to Ireland's most successful EYOF gymnastics campaign to date.
