The 13th Summer European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) was held in Tbilisi, Georgia, from 26 July to 1 August 2015.
Tbilisi 2015 remains Team Ireland's most successful EYOF performance, with a record-breaking 10 medals, split evenly between athletics and swimming. The team achieved outstanding success and produced a number of athletes who later progressed to senior international competition.
On the track, Ciara Neville won gold in the girls' 100m and established herself as one of Ireland's leading sprint prospects. Kevin McGrath also captured gold in the boys' 1500m, delivering one of Ireland's headline performances of the Games. Ryan Carthy-Walsh claimed silver in the High Jump with Gina Akpe-Moses doing the same in the 100m hurdles. Sommer Lecky completed the medal tally in athletics with a bronze medal in the High Jump.
In the pool, Antoinette Neamt and Conor Ferguson both won 2 medals each. Neamt claimed his with a silver in the 400m Freestyle and a bronze in the 800m Freestyle. Ferguson captured the 200m Backstroke silver medal and the 100m Backstroke bronze medal. Ellen Walshe won silver in the 100m Butterfly. Walshe would later become one of Ireland's leading international swimmers and Olympians.
Tbilisi 2015 stands as Team Ireland's most successful EYOF campaign, producing future senior internationals including Ellen Walshe, Ciara Neville, Gina Akpe-Moses, Sommer Lecky, Conor Ferguson and future Olympic Gold Medallist in Gymnastics, Rhys McClenaghan.
