The 12th Summer European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) was held in Utrecht, Netherlands, from 14-19 July 2013.

Team Ireland delivered an excellent performance at the 2013 EYOF in Utrecht, winning five medals, including two golds, two silvers and one bronze. Ireland finished 14th on the overall medal table, one of the country's strongest EYOF performances to that point.

The Irish athletics team was the standout contributor. Louise Shanahan captured gold in the girls' 800m, producing a superb finishing kick to claim Ireland's first gold medal of the Games. Later in the festival, Ireland's girls' 4x100m relay team won a second gold medal through Laura Ann Costello, Roseanna McGuckian, Niamh McNicol and Phoebe Murphy.

William Crowe added silver in the 1500m and Síobhra O'Flaherty won silver in the 3000m. Roseanna McGuckian completed the medal haul with bronze in the 200m. Ireland finished the Games with two gold, two silver and one bronze medal.
