Germany ahead in Sochi Medal Table

So far 25 of the 88 participating countries at the Winter Olympic Games have won medals. Germany head the table at present on Gold medals won (7) with the Netherlands ahead on total medals won (17) .Total number of athletes approximately 2,800, 98 events in 7 sports (15 disciplines).

In the London 2012 Summer Games 85 countries out of 204 National Olympic Committee’s won medals with Ireland placed 41st in the medal table. Total number of athletes approximately 10,500; 302 events in 26 sports.
