Murphy inspires future generation
Olympic swimmer Barry Murphy went back to school today to share his experiences about the positive impact sport has had on his life with pupils at Drumcondra National Primary School.
Having competed at the Olympic Games in 2012, won a European Bronze medal and World Cup Bronze medal in 2013 and broken numerous Irish national swimming records Barry had plenty of stories to share.
The pupils had also prepared well asking many insightful questions on swimming, sports nutrition , training programmes, support personnel, Olympic Games and even future career options now that Barry has announced his retirement from competitive swimming.
A big thank you to Barry, teachers and pupils at Drumcondra National Primary School for such a positive afternoon.
