The process is normally completed in 2-3hours, but due to last minute athlete entries the process which begun at 5.30pm ( Beijing time ) was still incomplete by 12 midnight.Its a very detailed process which has to be undertaken by all National Olympic Committee’s. The German NOC delegation began there meeting with BOCOG at 9am and and finished at midnight!.
It will resume at 5.30 pm tomorrow evening and the Chef de Mission and CEO will reside in the Olympic Village from the 22nd July, when verification is complete.The teams appartments within the village, transport allocation, NOC assistants allocation, and important accreditation details will be verified to ensure maximum support to Irish athletes in their quest to reach their personal Olympic goals.
BOCOG officials flexibile and friendly approach was very evident and relationships continue to be excellent between the OCI HQ team and BOCOG officials
