Following two days of the ISSF General Assembly, OCI Honorary Treasurer and Team Ireland Rio2016 Chef de Mission Kevin Kilty was elected to serve a four year term on the thirteen member executive committee of the International Shooting Sports Federation.

Kevin is an active volunteer within the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) where he has worked for many years in sport development and coach education. His work in this area was widely recognised through the high vote from the assembly which saw him elected to the 37 member administrative council of the ISSF and then subsequently as one of the 5 council delegates to the executive committee of the ISSF.

Speaking of his successful election, Kevin said “Being elected to the Executive Committee by the family of the shooting sports is the highlight of my many years working as a volunteer for the ISSF. It is a great honour and privilege for me to continue to work alongside a group of dedicated and creative people under the leadership of President Olegario Vázquez Raña. The shooting sports are stronger now than ever and under the President’s leadership I will work hard to ensure a bright future within the Olympic movement for all of our athletes and coaches”
