Olympic Council CEO Stephen Martin , said, “It was an opportunity for physios hear how they can participate as volunteer physiotherapists at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The London 2012 Olympic Games are most likely to be the closest we will experience to an Olympic Games in our lifetimes”
The Olympic Council of Ireland in association with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists hosted Lynn Booth, Lead Physiotherapist of London 2012 Organising Committee, to give a presentation on the role of the volunteer Olympic Physiotherapist, the application and recruitment process and outline the core skills required.
The seminar was open to members of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. Its hoped many who attended will apply to be part of the London Games physio support team.
