There will be six new medal events at PyeongChang 2018: Snowboard Big Air (M/W), Speed Skating Mass Start (M/W), Curling Mixed Doubles and the Alpine Team Event. This makes the total gold medal events 102 – making it the largest number of events ever at an Olympic Winter Games.

The process of compiling the schedule for all these sports began back in 2013 together with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), all the International Federations concerned, and Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS).

LEE Hee-Beom, President of the PyeongChang Organizing Committee (POCOG) said: “The countdown to the Olympic Winter Games continues, and now, with the launch of the competition schedule, the excitement and anticipation for everyone involved is really building up.

“Spectators can now see which sports will take place on which day, and the specific times for each session. This will help in the planning of their Olympic journey and give them the opportunity to buy tickets for a range of sports in one day, so as to make the most of their visit to PyeongChang 2018.”
