Reid 5th at World Triathlon Final

Aileen Reid pulled out the second fastest run of the day to finish 5th in the World Triathlon Series Grand Final.

Reid missed the lead pack out of the swim and had to work hard during the bike to keep in contention. The 17 up front had over 1 minute of an advantage at the start of the run but clocked 34:37 for the 10km to blitz through much of the field.

American Gwen Jorgenson won the race and the overall title as she also ran from the chase pack to claim the victory in a time of 2:00:05. Andrea Hewitt finished 2nd with Nicky Samuels 3rd.
