Roy Sheehan made it two wins out of two for Ireland at the AIBA World Championships and Olympic qualifiers in Baku.
The St Michael’s Athy welterweight came from being 4-3 down at the end of the first to register a 15-10 decision over Carl Hield of the Bahamas.
He produced an excellent second round performance to move ahead 11-8 against the Bahamian southpaw opponent before winning the third and final round 4-3.
Roy will now meet Borna Katalinic of Croatia on Sunday.
European light-welterweight champion, Ray Moylette, will be action tomorrow.
