About Artistic Swimming

Artistic swimming (formerly synchronised swimming) combines swimming, gymnastics and dance, performed in duet and team formats to music, with routines judged on synchronisation, technical difficulty and artistic impression. It has been part of the Olympic programme since 1984 and remains one of the more theatrical events at the Games.
