About Handball

Team handball is a fast, physical indoor team sport in which two teams of seven attempt to throw a ball into the opposing goal, played on a court roughly the size of a basketball court. It has been part of the Olympics since 1972 (1936 for men only), and is especially popular across continental Europe, though it has never taken hold competitively in Ireland at international level.
