Skateboarding made its Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020 and is contested in two disciplines, park, where skaters perform tricks on a bowl-like course, and street, which recreates urban obstacles such as rails, stairs and ledges. Routines and runs are judged on difficulty, execution and style, and the sport has brought a distinctly youthful energy to the Olympic programme.
