About Table Tennis

Table tennis has been part of the Olympic programme since 1988. Matches are played to eleven points across singles, doubles and team events for men and women, with the sport prized for the extraordinary speed and spin generated over the small table, making reaction time as important as technique, in a discipline long dominated by Chinese players. Ireland has yet to send a competitor to Olympic table tennis.
