About Taekwondo
Contested in weight categories for men and women, taekwondo is a striking martial art in which competitors score points for kicks and punches landed on a scoring vest or the head, with matches fought over three rounds and a strong emphasis on speed, flexibility and controlled aggression.
Jack Woolley became Ireland's first Olympic taekwondo competitor at Tokyo 2020, and went on to represent Ireland again at Paris 2024.
