Today marks just two years until the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics, and athletes from Ireland are training hard to make their goal of performing to their maximum at the XXXII Games in 2020 a reality. Recent results by Irish athletes show that they are well on the path to Olympic Qualification. The results also show that athletes have been successful in using this year to plan their performance peaks at the same time they will need to compete in 2020.
The Olympic Council of Ireland is leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to ensure athletes can perform at their very best during the Games. A small delegation from the OCI was in Tokyo recently to attend a National Olympic Committee information seminar. The delegation members were also able experience the heatwave conditions first hand and will be reporting to their observations to the team leaders of the sports likely to be representing Ireland in 2020.
