Sycerika McMahon qualifies for Olympics

Congratulations to Irish swimmer Sycerika McMahon  (17) who has qualified for the Olympics at the European Swimming Championships this morning in Debrecen, Hungary.  Sycerika finished second in her heat, her time of 1:08.37 and is the third fastest qualified into the semi-final.

 

Sycerika McMahon is joined in the semi-final by Fiona Doyle who finished 15th overal.  also in action this morning was Shani Stallard in the 100m Breastroke and Bethany Carson swam a personal best in the 100m Freestyle, both failed to progress to the sem-finals.

 

Tonight’s finals session will see McMahon and Doyle compete in the semi-final of the 100m Breaststroke and Melanie Nocher will be looking for Olympic qualification in the final of the 200m Backstroke Final.
