Katie Taylor secured her fourth European Union title on the trot after producing after defeating Poland’s Karolina Graczyk in the Lightweight final in Katowice, Poland.
The Bray woman, the current World and European champion, posted a 25-9 victory to take her points tally in four bouts in five days in Poland to 80 for and 30 against.
And in double celebration she also collected the boxer of the tournament award.
This latest success – Taylor’s second on the trot over Graczyk – saw the 24-year-old secure her eleventh major international title since 2005.
“Katie was a different class. It’s the best I’ve seen her perform. She was absolutely brilliant,” said IABA Director of Boxing Dominic O’Rourke, at ringside in Katowice.
