Team Ireland preparing at HKSI

Team Ireland have arrived in Hong Kong for their final preparations ahead of the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.

They will use the Hong Kong Institute of Sport (HKSI) world class facilities during their 6 day training camp before flying directly to Nanjing.

The sports programme is based on that of the Olympic Games. The Youth Olympic Games brings together talented young athletes aged from 15 to 18 from around the World (approx 204 countries will participate with approx 3800 athletes). In addition to our athletes we will have a Young Ambassador representing Ireland – Leah Ewart who will act as a coordinator of the Cultural & Educational Programme during the Games.

The Games will be from 16 to 28th August 2014.

The full list of sports schedules and details can be found direct on the Nanjing YOG website http://www.nanjing2014.org/en/ and updates will be made on www.olympicsdev.wpengine.com and our facebook https://www.facebook.com/teamirelandoci and twitter https://twitter.com/olympiccouncil feeds.
