Tough Finish to WEYOF for Irish Competitors

In fact only 27 of the 97 starters in the Girls event and 24 of of the 121 starters in the Boys event managed to qualify for the 2nd run (see the attached results). Conditions were extremely difficult, with many of the the pre-race favourites crashing out.  So heavy was the snow fall that some of the top nations did not manage to get a competitor into the final run.
