Officials from the Olympic Council of Ireland, the Institutes of Sport , both North and South , together with Performance staff from Cycling, Badminton and Canoeing will travel to London tomorrow to view the St Mary’s Institute of Sport training site.
Athletics have already committed to St Mary’s for pre Games training and there is potential for a number of other sports to utilise the facilities at St Mary’s Twickenham and surrounding area. Pictured; OCI and ISC officials with Patsy McGonagle AAI(centre) at St Marys November 2010)
The OCI and Sports Institutes are collaborating on London 2012 and Peformance Sport matters in general in this Olympic Cycle.
In addition Pat Hickey and senior officials from the OCI welcomed the new Chairman Keiran Mulvey and CEO John Treacy to Olympic House to discuss stratgic matters between the two organisations in the build up to London.
